Our Voices, Our Stories

Real people, real results. Explore the impact of WIOA 166/477 through our participants stories.

My experience as a WIA participant was transformative. Despite initial placement in an office setting, I advocated for a position with the Natural Resources Department, which ignited my interest in conservation. Although my career goals have shifted, that summer experience was invaluable, opening my mind to new possibilities and allowing me to contribute to community restoration efforts. As an administrator of the WIOA program, I'm dedicated to continuing this legacy of empowering youth and adults to achieve their aspirations.

Rosemary Reano

Co-Chair 166

I am a product of my 477 Program. When I was younger I used the Programs Johnson O' Malley program. Which helped with school supplies for my sisters and I. From participating in Summer youth and all the way to College and Employment and Training. Now! I am the Program Director leading my People where others once helped me. This is what the true glimpse of what Native Workforce Partners is about. Helping our people move forward.

Petra Solimon

Communications Coordinator

Looking back, my experiences growing up on the Zuni reservation were shaped by the difficulties of finding employment as a college student. However, my participation in the Zuni JTPA summer youth program, now WIOA, proved instrumental in acquiring essential skills and work experience. This resource played a pivotal role in my success across various roles. Now, as the administrator of the Pueblo of Zuni 477 program and Division Director for Education & Training, I am committed to ensuring our people have access to these resources, empowering them to achieve their career goals and become economically self-sufficient.
