About

PeaceKeepers was established in November 1992 to provide advocacy and technical assistance to the Eight Northern Pueblos. PeaceKeepers continues to raise awareness of domestic violence and advocate for systems of change to address policies and procedures of the court and criminal justice systems that impact safety and accountability. An array of services are provided for the victim, offender and community through advocacy, support & intervention, training, and legal services.

PeaceKeepers is a program under Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Council, Inc. (ENIPC, Inc.) and services are provided in a confidential, safe and neutral location.

Advocacy

Free, confidential advocacy & support services are provided to victims of:

  • Domestic Violence
  • Sexual Assault/Abuse
  • Stalking
  • Dating Violence
  • Elder Abuse

These services include court accompaniment, support groups, assistance with orders of protection, and referrals for other resources.

Outreach

PeaceKeepers staff will provide (as requested) innovative & educational trainings, workshops, information and resources for community programs, agencies, groups and Law Enforcement regarding topics on Dating Violence, Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Elder Abuse.

Legal Services

The PeaceKeepers Civil Legal program provides free and confidential services to victims who have been referred by a PeaceKeepers victim advocate.

Legal Advocacy: PeaceKeepers civil attorney provides free Civil Legal Services to PeaceKeepers clients in Tribal or State court relating to domestic violence, which includes representation for protection orders, child custody, child support and divorce.

Pro Se Services: PeaceKeepers civil attorney provides free legal services to PeaceKeepers clients who choose to represent themselves in Tribal or State Court in civil matters stemming from a domestic violence incident.

Transitional Housing

Program to provide short term housing and related support services to victims fleeing a violent relationship.
